Allée couverte des Cartesières

The Allée couverte des Cartesières (also called Allée couverte de Besnardière or Allée Couverte de St Symphorien-des-Monts) is a gallery tomb in the hamlet of Buais-Les Monts near Saint-Symphorien-des-Monts , in the extreme south of the Manche department in Normandy in France .

This T-shaped gallery tomb from the Neolithic (around 3500 BC) is the only one of its kind that has been preserved in Normandy. Some panels were disrupted by the collapse of trees.

The covered corridor is now in the castle park south of Saint Symphorien des Monts. The monument was first mentioned in 1870 and classified as a Monument historique in 1977 .

The closest megalithic site is La Hutte-aux-Gabelous in the Mayenne department, about 13.0 km away .
