The Alliant RQ-6 Outrider is a drone . It was developed by the American company Alliant Techsystems for real-time reconnaissance and surveillance.

On May 2, 1996, a $ 53 million contract was signed with the company for the delivery of 6 Outrider systems. The drawn out and disappointing development of the Outrider program, however, led the US Army to look for alternatives. In 1999, the Army conducted a comparison between the RQ-6A and the RQ-7A Shadow 200 . Because the RQ-7 performed better, the Outrider program was finally canceled in late 1999.

A total of 20 Outrider drones were built.
