The AeroVironment RQ-11 Raven is a small unmanned aerial vehicle used by the US armed forces for tactical combat reconnaissance in urban environments . These declare the Raven as M iniature U nmanned A erial V ehicle (MUAV). The RQ-11, which is equipped with an electric motor , has to be thrown into the air by a person. The Raven, which sends infrared and night vision recordings in real time, either flies autonomously from predetermined waypoints via GPS or is controlled by ground control.

After the RQ-11 had proven itself in Iraq and Afghanistan , it was exported to various countries. In addition to the USA, she is now in service in Australia , Denmark , Estonia , Great Britain , Italy , Lebanon , the Netherlands , Spain and the Ukraine. In December 2016, an RQ-11B was intercepted over the territory of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic .
