Allison Lee Scurich (born June 7, 1986 in Mission Viejo , California ) is an American soccer player with Croatian roots.
Career
Scurich attended Aliso Niguel High School from 2000 to 2004, during which time she played on the women's soccer team and basketball team of the Aliso Niguel Wolverines. After graduating from high school, she played in the WPSL for Las Vegas Tabagators for half a year before going to Washington State University for her sports scholarship . There she studied for three years and after completing her bachelor's degree, started playing club football at West Coast FC in California. In winter 2008/09 she left the West Coast and joined the Los Angeles Sol. There she was observed by scouts from the German second division TSV Crailsheim in summer 2009 and got a contract in Germany in July. She stayed for three years and scored five goals in 63 games. In the summer of 2012, she turned her back on Crailsheim and went to league rivals SC Sand. In March 2015 Scurich announced her move to league rivals 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam . However, the contract was initially terminated at the beginning of August 2015 and Scurich only appeared sporadically for Potsdam's second team.
International
Scurich, whose father John has Croatian roots, decided to play for the Croatian national team in 2011. In October 2011 she made her international debut for Croatia against the Dutch women's national soccer team .
As a trainer
On June 20, 2008, she was appointed as an assistant coach at Washington State Cougar's and the Cougar Soccer Academy.
Basketball career
Scurich played basketball at the performance level through her teens and college days. She played in various regional selections and was twice Most Valuable Player in the high school basketball league.
Personal
In September 2018, Scurich married her partner Sara Sample, with whom she has a daughter.
