Allister Hutton
Allister Hutton (born July 18, 1954 ) is a retired British long-distance runner .
Life
He was two times Scottish champion in cross-country running as well as in the 5000 and 10,000 meter run .
In 1985 and 1986 he was third in the London Marathon , where he set a Scottish record that is still valid today with 2:09:16 h. In 1987 he finished second at the Great North Run , in 1988 sixth in London, and in 1990 he won there in 2:10:10.
From 1974 to 1987 he participated ten times for Scotland in the Cross Country World Championships , with a 14th place in 1977 as the best placement.
Allister Hutton started for the Edinburgh Southern Harriers (now Edinburgh Athletic Club ).
