Almedin Čiva (born April 27, 1972 in Breza ) is a former Bosnian-Herzegovinian football player and today's coach.

Life

Čiva appeared as a second division player for Tennis Borussia Berlin , KFC Uerdingen 05 and SV Babelsberg 03 , among others . From January 2008 he was again under contract with SV Babelsberg 03, with whom he rose in the 2009/10 season as champion of the Regionalliga Nord in the 3rd division . At the age of 40 he was the oldest player in the three top German football leagues in the 11/12 season and on December 16, 2011, he played his 250th league game for SV Babelsberg in the third division match against SV Jahn Regensburg. At the end of the 2011/12 season, Čiva ended his active football career. Almedin Čiva played 15 games in the DFB Cup and scored one goal. He played a total of 638 competitive games for 9 clubs and scored 27 goals, including 71/1 in the 2nd Bundesliga and 326/10 in the 3rd league (until 2008 regional league, since then 3rd soccer league).

Čiva has held a Trainer A license since 2009 and on January 1, 2013 became the junior manager of sport at SV Babelsberg 03. On April 9 of the same year, he took over the training of the third division team from Babelsberg as the successor to the dismissed Christian Benbennek . Due to the insufficient license for the 3rd division, Dieter Timme was signed on April 29 as the official new coach; However, Civa remained a member of the coaching staff.

On July 1, 2013, he became sporting director at SV Babelsberg. On July 1, 2017, he also took on the position of chief trainer. In September 2018, Almedin Civa informed the board of SV Babelsberg 03 that he would not extend his expiring contract and would leave the club after 20 years. On May 12, 2019, he was the last coach in a home game on the sidelines. Civa was then honored by the city of Potsdam with an entry in the city's golden book.

Since July 1, 2020, he has been working as a trainer for the regional division 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig .
