Christian Benbennek (born November 9, 1972 in Soltau ) is a German football coach .

Career

At the age of 27, Benbennek started as a youth coach at VfL Wolfsburg . In 2005 he was promoted to assistant coach of the second team. After almost two years he moved to Wolfsburg's U-19 team in the U-19 Bundesliga , with which he immediately won the championship. After the disappointing 7th place in the table in the following season, he was presented at Eintracht Braunschweig II , but replaced at the end of the 2010/11 season by Henning Bürger . He then became a scout .

After almost a year as a football coach, Benbennek succeeded Dietmar Demuth as coach of the third division club SV Babelsberg 03 . In April 2013, he was released from his duties after the team slipped to a relegation zone in the 3rd division. Under his leadership, Babelsberg was only able to record seven wins in 29 games. On May 29, 2013 Benbennek was coach of the regional division TSV Havelse . On May 21, 2015, he signed a two-year contract as head coach of the regional division Alemannia Aachen for the 2015/16 season . After the game against Sportfreunde Lotte , he resigned on December 5, 2015.

For the 2016/17 season he became the new coach of the Austrian Bundesliga club SV Ried , with whom he received a contract valid until 2018, before he was replaced by Lassaad Chabbi in March 2017 .

On April 21, 2017 it was announced that he was returning to the regional league team TSV Havelse with the start of the 2017/2018 season. Before that he took over the U-23 of SpVgg Greuther Fürth until the end of the season in May 2017 . He worked in Havelse until autumn 2018. On June 8, 2019, BFC Dynamo announced that it had signed Benbennek as a coach.
