Alois Dobler

Alois Dobler (born September 26, 1929 in Schübelbach ; resident in Schübelbach) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Dobler studied law at the universities of Zurich , Heidelberg , Geneva and The Hague . He received his doctorate in 1958 as Dr. iur. in Zurich . During his studies, he was the central president of the Swiss Student Union from 1956 to 1957 . He then worked from 1961 to 1971, first as a court clerk and land clerk for the March district, and then from 1971 was a lawyer in Lachen .

His political career began in the municipal council of Lachen from 1964 to 1968. He was then elected to the cantonal parliament and was in the cantonal council of Schwyz from 1972 to 1976 . During this time he chaired the newly formed cantonal party of the CVP of the canton of Schwyz. In 1975 he was elected to the Council of States and held this office until 1991. He was President of the Council of States (1986/87) and was represented in countless commissions (among other things, he was President of the Finance and Business Audit Commission). He was also a member of the Swiss delegation for the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). From 1992 to 1995 he was the first Swiss bank to serve as an ombudsman .
