Alois Halbmayr (* 1961 in Sankt Johann in Engstetten ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

From 1979 to 1988 he studied Catholic theology at the Universities of Salzburg and Tübingen . In 1988/1989 he completed his legal clerkship in school . From 1989 to 1994 he was the director of studies at the St. Virgil / Salzburg educational center . 1994 became assistant in the department of systematic theology of the Catholic theol. Faculty of the University of Salzburg. After receiving his doctorate in 1998 and his habilitation in 2007, he was appointed associate professor in 2008. From March to June 2008 he taught as a visiting professor at the University of Vienna . From February to March 2016 he was a visiting scholar at Southern Methodist University . In 2017 he became dean of the Catholic Theol. Faculty of the University of Salzburg .

His main research interests are on the interaction between religion and economy, doctrine of God / monotheism, anthropology / soteriology, pneumatology and epistemology.
