Alois Pumberger

Alois Pumberger (born May 26, 1950 in Ried im Innkreis ) is an Austrian doctor and politician ( FPÖ ). Pumberger was a member of the Federal Council and a member of the National Council .

education and profession

After primary school, Pumberger attended the Bundesrealgymnasium in Ried im Innkreis from 1961 to 1969 and then studied medicine at the University of Vienna . In 1977 he obtained the academic degree Dr. med. univ.

Pumberger was initially a regular doctor at the Salzburg State Hospital between 1977 and 1981 and has been working as a general practitioner in Lohnsburg since 1982. He has also been the community doctor of the Lohnsburg-Waldzell medical community since 1985.

politics

Pumberger was a councilor in Lohnsburg from 1985 and a member of the regional party executive of the FPÖ Upper Austria from 1991. He was elected district party chairman of the FPÖ Ried im Innkreis in 1992 and was chamber councilor of the Upper Austrian Medical Association between 1993 and 1999 . From 1995 he was also regional party chairman of the FPÖ Upper Austria.

Pumberger represented the FPÖ between October 30, 1991 and November 11, 1993 in the Federal Council and was a member of the National Council between October 12, 1993 and December 19, 2002. Pumberger was health spokesman for the FPÖ and chairman of the health committee between 1996 and 2002. After Pumberger had supported Herbert Aspöck in the election of the state party chairman in 2008, a party expulsion process was initiated against Pumberger in June 2008.
