Alois Rieger

Alois Rieger (born February 14, 1869 in Rietsch bei Sternberg (Řídeč) , Moravia ; † November 3, 1951 in Weiterstadt , Germany ) was an Austrian politician of the German National Party (DnP).

Education, job and life

He was born in 1869 as the seventh of ten children of Franz Rieger (1833–1915) and his wife Franziska. After attending elementary and lower secondary school, he went to a technical school for weaving in Mährisch-Schönberg . In 1891 he became a teacher at the technical school for weaving, in 1892 he took over his father's estate in Rietsch and became the owner of the court of inheritance. On October 9, 1928, he married Aloisia König and had a son with her. After the family was expelled from the Sudetenland , he settled in Weiterstadt, where he stayed until his death.
