Alois Stimakovits

Alois Stimakovits (born August 22, 1897 in Steinberg an der Rabnitz ; † May 23, 1961 there ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and master mason. Stimakovits was a member of the Burgenland Landtag from 1956 to 1961 . He was married.

Stimakovits was born as the son of the master bricklayer Georg Stimakovits from Steinberg. He first attended the Steinberg elementary school and then four classes of middle school before he learned the profession of bricklayer and took over his parents' business. Stimakovits did military service between 1916 and 1918 and was an independent entrepreneur from 1932. In 1959, Stimakovits was awarded the professional title of Commercial Councilor.

Stimakovits was a local councilor in Steinberg from 1927 to 1931 and held the office of mayor between 1934 and 1938. In 1938 he was briefly taken into political custody; between 1939 and 1945 he served in the German Wehrmacht . After the end of the Second World War , Stimakovits took over the office of mayor of Steinberg again between 1945 and 1946 and from 1950 to 1961 and was district chairman of the ÖWB in the Oberpullendorf district from 1946 . Stimakovits was chamber councilor from 1946 to 1965 and vice-chairman of the trade section in the Burgenland Chamber of Commerce from 1950 to 1955 ; from 1950 he headed its district office in Oberpullendorf as chairman.

Stimakovits represented the ÖVP from June 11, 1956 during the VIII. And IX. Legislative period in the Burgenland Landtag, but retired early due to his death.
