Alois Strohmayr

Alois Strohmayr (born August 30, 1908 in Stadtbergen ; † February 27, 1993 there ) was a German politician of the SPD .

biography

education and profession

Strohmayr went to a humanistic grammar school and then attended the technical college. He then worked initially as a construction manager in the GAGFAH company , then at the socialist construction works in Stettin. From 1930 he worked as a freelance architect in Barcelona . In 1936 he returned to Stadtbergen to continue working as an architect. After the outbreak of the Second World War, Strohmayr was used in the police service. In 1942 he was imprisoned in a camp, from which he was not released until 1944. In the last year of the war he was assigned to a front mission. After the war, he got involved with the workers' welfare organization, whose chairman in the Swabian district he had been since 1949. He was also a member of the state board and the federal committee.

Strohmayr had been active in the Socialist Youth since 1924 and joined the SPD three years later. But only after the Second World War was active in politics. After 1945 he became a member of the municipal council in Stadtbergen, where he was also chairman of the party faction. In 1946 he moved into the Augsburg district assembly, six years later he was also chairman of the parliamentary group here. From 1948 to 1952 and again from 1956 to 1960 he was deputy district administrator of the Augsburg district.

From 1954 he was a member of the Bavarian state parliament . For this he left in 1961, he in the federal election in 1961 on the Bavarian list of SPD in the German Bundestag was elected. In the fourth legislative period, his first, he was a deputy member of the committee for SME issues for the first year, and from December 1962 he was a full member. In addition, Strohmayr was a full member of the committees for "Housing, Urban Development and Spatial Planning" and the federal government's economic property. In the fifth and sixth legislative periods, Strohmayr was still active in other committees. He left the German Bundestag again in 1972.
