Alois Weiß von Starkenfels

Baron Alois "Louis" Weiss von Starkenfels (* 1847 ; † 1895 ) was an Austrian landowner, heraldist and genealogist .

biography

Aloysius "Louis" Freiherr Weiß von Starkenfels was a son of the court councilor Richard Weiß Edler von Starkenfels (1815–1882), who was elevated to the status of Austrian baron in the 1870s. In 1873 he bought the manor Tettenweis including the castle in the lower Rottal, which had previously been owned by Count Joner .

In 1877 Alois Freiherr Weiß von Starkenfels married the widow Marie Therese von Tauffkirchen, born in 1838. Countess Meraviglia-Crivelli, who had previously been married to Count Joseph von Tauffkirchen zu Kleeberg , who died in 1871 . As a result, Weiss von Starkenfels also came into the possession of Kleeberg Castle in the lower Rottal . In the crypt chapel of Count Tauffkirchen-Kleeberg in Trostling near Ruhstorf an der Rott , an epitaph commemorates two children who died prematurely from his marriage. Weiß von Starkenfels sold the former Tauffkirchen property and Kleeberg Castle in 1881 to the Barons von Moreau, and the Tettenweis manor and castle in 1893.

Alois Freiherr Weiß von Starkenfels wrote together with Johann Kirnbauer von Erzstätt the Siebmacher - book of arms about the nobility in Upper Austria .
