Aloys Kunc
Aloÿs Martin Cunq (born January 1, 1832 in Cintegabelle , † March 7, 1895 in Toulouse ) was a French organist and composer.
Life
Kunq, who changed his name to Kunc in 1850, was initially organist in Gombez (1852) and conductor at the cathedral in Auch (1857). He then settled in Toulouse and was organist at the churches of St. Aubin (1863) and Jesu (1865) before he became Kapellmeister at the Toulouse Cathedral in 1870 .
Kunc's most important student was the composer Henri Busser . Several church music works have come down to us by Kunc himself, including a Tantum ergo for four-part mixed choir and organ and the Sacred Heart cantata Pitie, mon Dieu . His sons Aymé and Pierre Kunc were also known as composers, and his son Camille was the conductor of the opera orchestras of Algiers, Nice and Toulon.
