Pierre Kunc

Pierre Kunc (born October 28, 1865 in Toulouse , † December 29, 1941 there ) was a French organist and composer.

The son of the organist Aloys Kunc and brother of the composer Aymé Kunc studied composition with Ernest Guiraud and organ with Eugène Gigout at the École Niedermeyer . He then continued his education at the Conservatoire de Paris . He worked as organist and conductor at the Cathedral of Versailles and then at various churches in Paris, including Saint-Eugène and Notre-Dame-de-Bercy . In 1928 he finally became Kapellmeister at St-Sulpice . Kunc won the Concours de la Ville de Paris in 1903 , received the Ministry of Culture prize the following year and the Prix ​​Trèmont in 1908 . He emerged as a composer of church music (for organ and harmonium).
