Aloys von Seiller
Aloys Freiherr von Seiller (born December 10, 1833 in Vienna ; † June 12, 1918 there ), from the Seiller family , was a diplomat, kuk secret council, extraordinary and authorized minister, envoy of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy in Rio, among others de Janeiro , Bern and Berlin .
Life
The son of the Mayor of Vienna, Johann Kaspar von Seiller , passed the diplomatic examination in 1856 and was then assigned to Bern, Munich, Hanover, Stuttgart, Madrid and Kassel. In 1865 he came to Saint Petersburg and in 1872 was appointed Legation Councilor, Second Category. From 1872 he was counselor in Berlin, from 1876 in Rome. From 1881 to 1888 he was Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary in Brazil, then Envoy in Bern.
Seiller was married to Amélie Vianna de Lima Baronne de Jaurú, the daughter of the Brazilian diplomat Baron César Sauvan Jaurú . The marriage resulted in the six children Arthur (district captain in Pola, Istria), Madeleine, Viktor (Austrian military attaché in Rome , general staff officer), Paul (diplomat), Marie Louise Röhrs and Erich (owner of the Austro-Lloyd travel agency).
He retired as Privy Councilor in 1895 and lived in Vienna at Schmerlingplatz 2 until his death . He is buried in the Hietzinger Friedhof in Vienna.
