The Alpbach (in the upper reaches of Fulbach) is an approximately ten kilometer long left tributary of the Reuss in the area of the municipality of Erstfeld in the Swiss canton of Uri .

course

The river rises as Fulbach at about 2512  m above sea level. M. below the Glatt Firn on the southeast slope of the Graw Stock . After the confluence of some source streams, it flows into the Obersee . He leaves the mountain lake and at the same time overcomes an 80 meter and a 20 meter high waterfall before reaching a relatively flat, swampy plain. Here it passes the Fulensee and then falls 90 meters down a valley step, where it joins the somewhat larger Sunnig Grundbach to form the Alpbach at the beginning of the Erstfeldertal . The Alpbach now flows to the east through a narrow gorge, before it crosses the meadows of Noflenberg, Bodenberg, Restiberg, Ribiberg, Sagerberg and Plattenberg. After a second passage through the gorge, it reaches the alluvial fan in the Reuss valley and crosses the Taubach tunnel on the A2 . It finally flows into the village of Erstfeld at 467  m above sea level. M. into the Reuss.

At the hamlet of Bodenberg, the Chesselbach and the Eienbach, which rises below a high rock step near the Leidsee, flow into the Alpbach from the south .
