Alper Tezcan (born May 3, 1980 in Silivri ) is a former Turkish professional football player.

Tezcan emerged from the youth of Galatasaray Istanbul . In his very short professional career he was able to reach the UEFA Cup and the championship of the Süper Lig in his first and last season (99/00) at Galatasaray .

After an injury in the UEFA Cup match against Bologna FC , Tezcan was operated on 11 times after a foul by Pierre Womé , which made it impossible to continue his career in professional football because he - according to his own statements - had been operated incorrectly. He accuses his ex-club Galatasaray of a lack of attention during his injury. The family is said to have paid the majority of the surgery costs.

He currently plays for third division club Gazitepe Silivri .

Trivia

Due to financial problems, Tezcan auctioned his UEFA Cup medal from 2000 on February 23, 2009 via an internet platform for the equivalent of around € 93,000. It later emerged that the bidder couldn't pay the money.
