The documentary "When the Jaguar came to Herford" gives an insight into the history of the Jaguar Club , which was brought to life by Carola Frauli in 1966 in a disused cinema in Herford . Furthermore, nine men and women over 65 years of age from the Herford district who were guests at the Jaguar Club at the time are portrayed. Underlaid with a lot of beat and rock music from the 1960s, the film follows its protagonists into the past with documentary recordings and accompanies them with the camera in the present.

The filmmakers Rainer Bärensprung and Robin Epkenhans began filming on March 23, 2017 and completed it in October 2019. The sound mixing was carried out by Stephan Konken in the Konken Studios Hamburg . Susi Dollnig was hired as a colorist .

After the premiere date was announced in the Capitol Kino Herford on November 8, 2019, all 200 seats in the hall were sold out in less than 24 hours. This was followed by 11 more film screenings in the Capitol Kino Herford and in the camera cinema Bielefeld, which were also sold out or very well attended (as of February 13, 2020).

Further performances are planned across Germany and internationally.

The film was funded by Sparkasse Herford and Heiner Wemhöner .
