The Alszeile to the west

The Alszeile is an almost 2 kilometer long body of traffic in Vienna- Dornbach , which was made possible by the vaulting of the Alsbach in this area in 1894/5 . The Alszeile at the foot of the Schafberg was named in 1897, referring to a row of houses on the Alsbach.

After Hernalser Hauptstraße , the traffic-calmed Alszeile in the eastern area ( Dornbacher Friedhof , Hernalser Friedhof , Wiener Sportclub-Platz , Pensionerswohnhaus Alszeile, Bruno-Kreisky-Hof) is the longest street in the district. In the western part (vineyards of St. Peter Abbey on the southern slope of the Schafberg, municipal buildings Vollbadgasse 5 and Alszeile 118 in linear construction from the early post-war period), from Vollbadgasse, Alszeile takes over the through traffic from Dornbacher Straße (tram 43).

In the Josef-Kaderka -Park a community garden with 150 m² cultivation area was opened in 2011, in the area in front of the cemeteries an "active park" for seniors was opened in 2013. The eastern part of Alszeile is particularly popular with cyclists and joggers due to its lack of traffic and greenery. In front of the Dornbacher Friedhof there is also a dog zone popular with dog owners.
