The Alte Weser at Dreye is an oxbow lake of the Weser in the municipality Weyhe in Diepholz .
description
The oxbow lake was expanded into a lake in the 1960s by removing sand. The lake is located east of the Dreye district of Weyher in the outer dyke area between the Weser and Weser dykes. The lake is connected to the Weser by a sluice that flows into the Dreyer harbor. A drainage ditch flows into the Alte Weser from the south .
The Alte Weser is used as a bathing and fishing water. The water quality is partially limited by the occurrence of blue-green algae in summer. The old Weser is lined with trees and tall herbaceous meadows. This is followed by meadows and pastures . In the east and south-west of the lake there are two natural swimming areas with a sandy beach. There are no sanitary facilities.
