Altendorf-Ulfkotte is the southernmost district of Dorsten in the Recklinghausen district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Altendorf-Ulfkotte was an independent municipality until 1974.
geography
Altendorf-Ulfkotte is located southeast of the Dorsten core town on both sides of the federal road 224 . Gladbeck and Gelsenkirchen connect to the south .
history
Altendorf and Ulfkotte were two old farmers who were also known as the parish of Dorsten until the 19th century . Since 1844, the municipality of Altendorf-Ulfkotte, which until the beginning of industrialization was dominated by agriculture, belonged to the Marl district in the Recklinghausen district. The municipality became part of the city of Dorsten on January 1, 1975 through the Ruhr Area Act . A small part of the municipality with the Polsum substation came to the city of Gelsenkirchen.
