Altenkirchen is a district of the market Frontenhausen in the Lower Bavarian district of Dingolfing-Landau . Until 1978 the place was the seat of the municipality of Rampoldstetten .
Geography and transport links
The hamlet with a church is the seat of a parish and is located three kilometers south of the core town of Frontenhausen on the DGF 44 district road.
history
The castle stables of Lichtenegg Castle point to the long history of settlement . The pilgrimage church of St. Corona was built in 1622/31. Altenkirchen was the seat of the municipality of Rampoldstetten, which was founded by the Bavarian municipal edict in 1818. In addition to Rampoldstetten and Altenkirchen, the community included Aign, Bach, Berg, Bertensdorf, Biegendorf, Bruck, Eiselsdorf, Forst, Friedersdorf, Fuchsberg, Geisbruck, Georgenschwimmbach , Grub, Grubwinkl, Grund, Haag, Lichtenegg, Moselding, Oed, Ödgarten, Reisach , Rieglöd, Sandöd, Schaufl, Schern, Schwaige, Sonnleiten, Wachlkofen, Wettersdorf, Witzeldorf and Wollöd. On May 1, 1978, the previously independent community of Rampoldstetten with Altenkirchen was incorporated into Frontenhausen.
