The Alte Dorfsee (also: Altdorfer See ) is a lake in the urban area of Krakow am See in the Rostock district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It is located entirely in the Nossentiner / Schwinzer Heide nature park .
The lake is about 1.7 kilometers southwest of Krakow city center. The built-up area on the north bank is mainly used commercially. The Güstrow – Meyenburg railway line runs along the east bank and, a short distance away, the state road 37. A forest area adjoins it to the south.
The elongated water has a size of 25.4 hectares and is poorly structured. There is only a bay in the northwest. The north-south extension of the lake is 1140 meters, the maximum width 325 meters. The water level is 49.9 m above sea level. NHN . On the moorland west bank in the middle section, a ditch flows from the Derliener See to the old village lake . To the north, the Mühlenbach flows off towards Krakower See .
During the Second World War from 1943 to 1945 there was a subcamp of the Ravensbrück concentration camp at Altdorfer See , in which 150 to 200 female prisoners lived who had to do forced labor in the grain halls in the production of aircraft parts for the Rostock Heinkelwerke . They were housed in barracks where refugees lived after the war. The barracks have since been torn down.
