Altin Haxhi (born June 17, 1975 in Gjirokastra , Gjirokastra County ) is a former Albanian football player . He played in midfield but could also play in defense .
Career
Haxhi began his career with his hometown club KS Luftëtari Gjirokastra . Since 1996 he has been playing for Greek and Bulgarian clubs outside Albania , and in the 2005/06 season he played for Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus for a year . Most recently, he was under contract with Apollon Kalamarias from summer 2010 to 2012 .
Haxhi celebrated his greatest success in 1999 when he became Bulgarian champion with Litex Lovech . At that time, Alban Bushi was another Albanian in the squad of this club.
For the Albanian national team , Haxhi played 66 times and scored three goals.
