The Altmühltherme is a thermal bath with an attached family & active bath, sauna area and outdoor pool in the central Franconian resort of Treuchtlingen .

history

The thermal bath in its current form was completed in 1996. It is fed from two thermal wells.

The prerequisites for the Altmühltherme were created in 1981 after the Altmühltaler Mineralbrunnen encountered thermal water while drilling . A second well was drilled later. In 1996, the thermal baths were expanded into a modern bath complex with a total of 3200 square meters of water and a spa treatment department was added.

Technical specifications

The fluoride-containing thermal water from a depth of 800 meters has a high mineral content. The temperature of the deep water is 28 degrees Celsius. In the thermal indoor and outdoor pools, the water temperature is heated to 30 to 36 degrees Celsius. From a medical point of view, the water is indicated for rehabilitation and for alleviating complaints in the spinal column and joint area and can promote the recovery process in the case of neurological restrictions and osteoporosis .

In the connected spa center Altmühlvital, medical baths, massages , fango , decongestive therapies, exercise therapies and physiotherapy are offered , among other things .

The Altmühltherme is visited by around 300,000 people every year. It is the only thermal bath in the Altmühltal Nature Park , the third largest nature park in Germany. The catchment area extends from Augsburg in the south, Ingolstadt in the east and Heilbronn , Würzburg and Nuremberg in the west and north.
