Altuğ Ünlü

Altuğ Ünlü (born November 8, 1965 in Istanbul ) is a German composer , theorist and musicologist of Turkish origin.

Life

Altuğ Ünlü has lived in Germany since 1980. He studied composition / theory in György Ligeti's class from 1986–1991 at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater and received his doctorate in historical musicology from the University of Hamburg under Constantin Floros . To this day, Ünlü has published numerous musicological treatises on Mozart , Chopin , Mahler , Wagner and Schönberg in magazines and books. In 2000 he received the Bach Prize grant from the city of Hamburg for his compositional work . Since the winter semester 2000/2001 he has been professor for music theory at the Robert Schumann University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf .
