Álvaro Pachón Morales (born November 30, 1945 in Bogotá , Colombia ) is a former Colombian cyclist .

Athletic career

During his career, Morales won seven major stage races in Latin America : the Tour of Mexico in 1967 and 1972, the Clásico RCN 1969, the Vuelta al Táchira 1969, 1970 and 1973 and the Vuelta a Colombia 1971. At the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games , he won silver in the team time trial . He represented his country at the 1968 and 1976 Summer Olympics . In 1968 in Mexico City he was 15th and 1976 in Munich 22nd in the street race . At the 1976 Games, he also finished 23rd in the team time trial.

In 1971 Álvaro Pachón won the Clásico RCN stage race , but was disqualified for doping and again in 1974 after winning the Tour of Colombia .
