Alvaro Pascual-Leone
Alvaro Pascual-Leone (born August 7, 1961 in Valencia , Spain ) is a Spanish professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School . As one of the leading brain researchers , he was able to prove that free will can be influenced by physical stimuli.
Pascual-Leone studied medicine and neurophysiology at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg . He then worked at the University of Minnesota and for the US National Institutes of Health . Since 1997 Pascual-Leone has been director of the Center for Noninvasive Brain Stimulation (CNBS) and liaison director of the General Clinical Research Center of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston .
He lives in Wayland , Massachusetts with his wife Elizabeth and three children.
Awards
In 2000 he received the Daniel D. Federman Outstanding Clinical Educator Award . In 2007 he was awarded the Jean Louis Signoret Prize .
