Alviksbron is a tram bridge for the Tvärnana in Stockholm . The bridge connects the island of Stora Essingen over the Mälaren with Bromma and was opened to traffic in 2000.
The Alviksbron is a double-lane tram bridge combined for pedestrian and bicycle traffic. It is a total of 400 meters long, the longest span is 140 meters and its sail-free height is 24 meters. The bridge is a prestressed concrete structure that made it possible to build it with hanging scaffolding without contact with the ground or water. The bridge beams were concreted from the pillars in both directions at the same time. The Alviksbron has a slim construction and its bridge arch harmonizes with the arch of the Tranebergsbron behind it . The bridge piers, which are clad with red brick , are illuminated at night.
