Aly Mazahéri

Aly Mazahéri (born 1914 ; died 1991 ; Persian علی مظاهری) was an Iranian Iranist , sociologist and historian who lived mostly in France and published mainly in French. His best-known book, which has been translated several times, is La vie quotidienne des musulmans au moyen âge: Xe au XIIIe siècle from the French everyday history book series La vie quotidienne , which was also translated into German under the title This is how the Muslims lived in the Middle Ages . He is the author of a work on the history of Sino-Persian cultural exchange along the Silk Road , which appeared in Chinese translation in the translation series of famous French works on Dunhuang research in the Western Regions . In 1951 he became a member of the Académie internationale d'histoire des sciences . He also wrote in Persian and translated from Arabic into French. The place Chartres is the seat of the Association des Disciples d'Aly Mazaheri .
