Alyson Charles (born October 30, 1998 in Montreal ) is a Canadian short tracker .

Career

Charles started internationally for the first time at the 2015 Junior World Championships in Osaka . There she was fourth with the relay over 3000 m. At the 2018 Junior World Championships in Tomaszów Mazowiecki , she won the gold medal with the relay over 3000 m. She made her debut in the World Cup at the beginning of the 2018/19 season in Calgary . There she took third place in both 500 m races and with the relay. At the following World Cup station in Salt Lake City , she won her first World Cup victory over 1000 m. In Almaty she won the mixed relay and took third place with the relay. At the end of the season in Turin she was third in the 1000 m and finally achieved seventh place in the World Cup over 500 m and third place in the World Cup over 1000 m. At the 2019 World Championships in Sofia she won the bronze medal with the relay and finished 26th in the all-around competition.

In the following season, Charles won the World Cup in Shanghai with the relay. In addition, she took second place twice and third place three times with the relay. At the Four Continents Championships in Montreal in 2020 , she won the 500 m and the silver medal with the relay.
