biography
Williams, the daughter of jazz trumpeter Bobby Booker, had nine hits in the American R&B charts between 1987 and 1992, five of which reached the top 10: Sleep Talk , Just Call My Name (1989), I Need Your Lovin ' ( 1990), Can't Have My Man and Just My Luck (1992). I Need Your Lovin ' was also her only top 10 hit in the UK singles charts. At that time Williams was under contract with the renowned hip-hop label Def Jam .
In late 1989 she received a gold award in Great Britain for her debut album Raw . Their second album was far less successful. After a long break, a new work was not published until 2004.
Before her hits, Williams sang in the background with artists such as Melba Moore , Evelyn "Champagne" King , Kurtis Blow and Bobby Brown . He also created duets with Tashan , Oran “Juice” Jones and Chuck Stanley . She was also a member of the R&B band High Fashion , which had only one top 40 hit: Feelin 'Lucky Lately (1982, 32nd).
