Alyssa Campanella (born March 21, 1990 in New Brunswick , New Jersey ) is an American beauty queen and winner of Miss USA 2011 .

Life

In October 2006, Campanella was crowned Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2007 and then represented her hometown in the Miss Teen USA election in August 2007, where she was runner-up behind Hilary Cruz from Colorado at the age of 17 .

In 2008 and 2009 she competed twice in the Miss New Jersey USA election, reaching number 2 and the top 15. However, when she took up the Miss California USA in November 2010 , she was able to prevail and was allowed to represent the state of California in the Miss USA election the following year .

As the favorite for the title, it was in June 2011 in Las Vegas , Nevada for the Miss USA crowned and could thus also in the choice of Miss Universe in September 2011 in São Paulo , Brazil compete where it reached the Top 16.

Together with the other Miss USA winners Shanna Moakler (1995), Susie Castillo (2003) and Shandi Finnessey (2004), she took part in a campaign run by the animal rights organization PETA in June 2013 .

Alyssa Campanella was married to Canadian actor Torrance Coombs from 2016 to 2019 .
