José Antonio Eguren Anselmi SCV (born June 14, 1956 in Lima ) is Archbishop of Piura .

Life

José Antonio Eguren Anselmi joined the religious order of the Sodalicio de Vida Cristiana and made his profession on July 9, 1981 . The Archbishop of Lima , Juan Cardinal Landázuri Ricketts, OFM , ordained him a priest on December 12, 1982 . He was incardinated in the Archdiocese of Lima until February 2001, when the Pope granted the Sodalicio de Vida Cristiana the incardination of her own priests.

On February 16, 2002, John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Lima and titular bishop of Castellum Ripae . The Archbishop of Lima , Juan Luis Cardinal Cipriani Thorne Opus Dei , donated him the episcopal ordination on April 7th of the same year; Co- consecrators were Rino Passigato , Apostolic Nuncio in Peru , and Alcides Mendoza Castro , Archbishop of Cuzco .

He was named Archbishop of Piura on July 11, 2006, and was introduced to office on August 22 of the same year.
