Amadeus de Bussy-Rabutin

Anton Ignaz Amadeus de Rabutin, comte de Bussy (* 1682 or 1683 ; † September 1727 in St. Petersburg ) was an imperial general and envoy.

Life

He was the only son of the imperial general Jean-Louis de Bussy-Rabutin and the Dorothea Elisabeth Princess of Holstein-Sonderburg-Wiesenburg . She married Georg Ludwig von Sinzendorf after the death of her first husband .

As early as 1710, he was a lieutenant colonel in his father's dragoon regiment . Later he was a colonel in this regiment and fought with him near Peterwardein , Temesvar and Belgrade .

After his father's death in 1717, he also became the owner of his father's regiment. He was also an imperial chamberlain. In 1723 he was promoted to major general.

As a result, he was from 1724 extraordinary imperial envoy in Berlin and from 1727 in St. Petersburg . There he gained the trust of Empress Katharina , who awarded him the Order of St. Andrew. With his death, his line died out.
