Amalie Weidner-Steinhaus

Amalie Weidner-Steinhaus (born January 4, 1876 as Elisabeth Steinhaus in Ruhrort ; † February 3, 1963 in Duisburg ) was a local poet from Duisburg . She wrote numerous articles in the Rhenish-Franconian dialect .

Life

On February 6, 1898, she married Gustav Adolf Weidner in Essen and from then on bore the name Weidner-Steinhaus. At times she ran a confectionery supply shop with her husband .

On November 4, 1933, the marriage was legally divorced before the Duisburg Regional Court . She died on February 3, 1963 in Duisburg. She has an honorary grave of the city of Duisburg at the Eisenbahnstrasse cemetery .

Honor

On September 5, 2008, a park on Hafenstrasse in Duisburg-Ruhrort was dedicated to the poet.
