The Amanka Lake is a lake in Togiak National Wildlife Refuge in southwest Alaska , 42 kilometers west of Dillingham .
The 33 km² large lake is located at a height of 12 m in the south of the Wood River Mountains . The 15 km long lake forms a semicircle on the north side of the 681 m high Sugtutlik Peak . The main tributary is the Ongoke River , in whose catchment area the Ualik Lake is located. The Igushik River drains the lake at its southwest end to the south to Nushagak Bay . Manokotak is located 12 km southeast of the lake on the banks of the Igushik River.
In summer, the lake and its tributaries are the target of sockeye salmon , who swim up the Igushik River to their spawning grounds .
