The sailing ship Amazone is one of the few surviving German seamen . It was built in 1909 at the JH Jacobs shipyard in Moorrege on the Pinnau , a tributary of the Elbe .

The Amazon is 33.5 meters long ( Lüa ) and 5.36 meters wide ( Büa ), the body length is 24.69 meters. The ship has a sail area of 290 m² and has a draft of 1.40 to 2.50 meters. It is considered a traditional ship according to the "Safety Guideline for Traditional Ships".
