Ambros Giner

Ambros Giner (born March 29, 1887 in Thaur ; † April 10, 1965 ) was the 54th provost and 13th Lateranian abbot of the Augustinian Canons Monastery in Neustift in South Tyrol 1931–1965 and a member of the Austrian Congregation for Canons.

Life

Ambros Giner joined the Neustift canon monastery in 1909. After his ordination in 1913, he was a cooperator in Welschnofen for one year . In 1918 he received his doctorate in theology from the University of Vienna and was then professor of religion at the State High School in Brixen, was elected dean and in 1931 provost. Despite the difficult war years, he brought the pen to new heights. He died on April 10, 1965 after a long and serious illness.

Since 1909 he was a member of the Catholic student union AV Vindelicia Innsbruck .
