Ambrosius Adrian Adolf Freiherr von Viermund zu Neersen (* November 2, 1640 ; † December 15, 1688 ) was Baron von Neersen , Anrath and Schönforst and a member of the Lower Rhine noble family Virmond-Neersen (1502–1744).

Life

Ambrosius Adrian was the son of Baron Adrian Wilhelm von Viermund and his first wife Johanna Katharina von Bongardt.

He entered the service of the Elector of the Palatinate , who rose to the position of Privy Councilor and Colonel - stable master .

As early as 1669 his father left him the administration of Neersen, Anrath and Donk .

After the death of his father on July 15, 1681, Ambrosius Adrian was enfeoffed on September 18, 1681 with the castle and the rule of Neersen, as well as the other lands of the family. Like all his life, he was always in the shadow of his father during his reign. He was particularly noticeable because of the excessive waste of money.

He was married to Johanna Margaretha Freiin von Spee zu Altenhof († April 12, 1712). She was the daughter of the married couple Friedrich Christian von Spee zu Altenhoven, bailiff of Angermund , and Maria von Weschpennig zu Scheidt, heir to Heltorf Castle .

He succeeded his father-in-law as bailiff of Angermund and was also Drost of Ratingen .

When he died in 1688, his only son Ambrosius Franz followed him . He was buried in the Anrath Church. Around 1693 his widow bought the Clörath house as a retirement home.
