2017 European Junior American Football Championship
The 2017 European Junior American Football Championship was the 13th edition of this tournament . It took place from 14 to 16 July 2017 in Villepinte near Paris .
qualification
In the qualification, eight teams were originally supposed to fight for two places for the final tournament. For this purpose, two tournaments were scheduled, in each of which four teams should compete for one of the two places. The German team was assigned the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland as opponents, for the other tournament Serbia, Italy, Russia and Hungary were assigned as participants. A few weeks before the qualification it became known that the IFAF New York wants to organize its own European championship for juniors. At the same time, IFAF Europe announced that the Netherlands and Serbia are hosting the qualifying tournaments.
Tournament in Serbia
In the wake of the dispute between the associations, Hungary and Russia withdrew their participation in the qualifying tournament in Serbia, leaving Italy and Serbia as the only participants. Italy qualified for the finals in Paris with a narrow victory.

Tournament in the Netherlands
The second qualifying tournament was held in Almere in the Netherlands. The reigning runner-up Germany went into the tournament as the favorite and, as expected, clearly prevailed.

Final tournament
The final tournament was held in Paris from July 14th to 16th, 2017. Host France and defending champions Austria were directly qualified for the final tournament. Germany and Italy prevailed in the qualification and completed the field of participants.
