action
Diderik (Svend Johansen) and Elise (Ghita Nørby) are sitting on their 18th wedding anniversary and commemorate the many wonderful years they have lived together. They have two children - a 17 year old son and a 16 year old daughter who they are happy with, although they may be surprised by their desire for independence. But tonight they are sitting at the festively decorated dining table and dreaming…. Han himself is the main character in his dream, which is about the warrior Diderik (also Svend Johansen) and who is set in the year 1200. Diderik has little meaning for women. The 18-year-old Gunelil (Tine Bjerregaard) ran away with the 20-year-old Kjartan (Ole Guldbrandsen). Diderik follows them and catches up with them ... This little dream doesn't end quite the way Diderik imagined it would. We are now back with the couple in the cozy living room. He realized that violence is not a solution. She suggests that a woman who is to be unfaithful to her husband must have a good reason. Let's see what she dreams: in 1910, the flirtatious Elisa (again Ghita Nørby) is married to the shy and gentle cuckold (now husband: Jacques Mauclair) who tries everything to keep his wife, but fails. She lets everything and everyone into the marriage bed: her regular lover (Ejner Hans Jensen), the thieves who steal the cutlery (Paul Hüttel and Eddie Karnil), the coal man (Jesper Langberg), the plumber (Dirch Passer) , the fireman (Morten Grunwald) and the chief of police (Sven Erik Jensen). All these gentlemen flinch and hide under the bed and in the closet. You will be dressed in the wrong clothes and the whole farce will end with a cake that doesn't end where one might expect it to. We're back to the couple who confide in the fact that they sometimes dream of being someone other than them. She, a blonde, has a dream of being the dark-haired femme fatale for whom the French make a storm cure. HE likes that joke. Diderik also dreamed of being the seductive and charming French. When he pulls a beautiful kamé necklace out of his pocket - a present for the wedding day - she exclaims: "God knows how much amour she has experienced?" We are now entering the third and final dream: We meet the 20-year-old handsome young man Philippe (Philippe Etesse), who sings a beautiful song in the company of the slightly older Constance (Nadine Alari). Constance loves her equally attractive husband Adolphe (Bernard Noël), whom she does not actually cheat and has sex with him extensively. Later on, Philippen Constance reads poems by Alfred de Musset while sitting at her feet in the park . Constances can't resist Philippe's sex appeal. The big bulge in his tight pants excites her. Even Adolphe makes a remark that Philippe is extremely well equipped, as he finds out admiringly in the sauna. The temptation is too great: Constance arranges a new meeting with Philippe and they end up in the marriage bed. Adolphe felt that he should go home again. He comes home in time to see Philippe indulging himself in lovemaking in his wife. He is now sexually aroused by the young man himself in the face of naked Philippe. What comes next is no longer shown. The three little stories end in the bedroom. We're back with Elise and Han. He sleeps way too early and she turns off his light with a melancholy smile.
background
"Amour", which premiered at the Cannes Festival in 1970, is the first Danish-French co-production. The third episode of the film is the French language and uses French actors: Philippe Étesse , Bernard Noël , Nadine Alari and Jacques Mauclair . Production came to a standstill despite Gabriel Axel's previous film "Det kære legetøj" (Le Joujou cheri / The Favorite Game) was banned in France. At home, the film fund refused to give a production guarantee for "Amour". Reviewers generally liked the middle story. The two Olsen Gang stars Ove Sprogøe and Morten Grunwald can be seen in supporting roles .
