Philippe Étesse (* 1947 ) is a French actor .

Life

Philippe Étesse made his theatrical debut at the Parisian Théâtre de la Madeleine as Guillaume Charbonnier alongside Corinne Le Poulain in Quarante Carats . In 1968 he made his television debut as Cléante alongside Michel Serrault and Rosy Varte in Pierre Badel's Le bouregois gentilhomme ( The Citizen as Nobleman ). At the theater he played in 1970 with Claude Jade in Julien Bertheau's production of Sacha Guitrys Je t'aime and alongside Gaby Sylvia in Le repas des dinosaures . The Dane Gabriel Axel gave him a leading role as a romantic seducer in his three-episode film Amour in 1970 . In the early 1970s he worked in a number of productions by Jean Meyer at the Théâtre des Célestins in Lyon: as Lafcadio Wluiki in André Gide's Les Caves du Vatican , as Valère in Der Geizige and as Dorante in The Game of Love and Chance . In addition to Meyer, he worked with other theater directors such as Jean-Louis Barrault , Franco Zeffirelli , Jean-Paul Roussillon , Jean-Laurent Cochet and Maurice Béjart . The crime series Les dossiers de Maitre Robineau brought him great popularity . As the title hero Jean-Marc Robineau, he investigated in four TV films. From 1975 to 1983 he was a member of the Comédie-Française . In 2003/2004 he played the Interior Minister in the Frank Riva series . In the new millennium, Philippe Étesse was seen in several productions by Patrice Kerbrat , for example in Terence Rattigan's The Browning Version (Conflict of the Heart) in 2016 .
