Jean-Laurent Cochet (born January 28, 1935 in Romainville , Département Seine-Saint-Denis , † April 7, 2020 in Paris ) was a French actor and acting teacher.

Jean-Laurent Cochet worked for the Comédie-Française from 1959 to 1964 and was director of the Théâtre Hébertot from 1983 to 1986 . In the film he starred in Thousand Billion Dollars and Fort Saganne, among others .

As an acting teacher, he taught later stars of French cinema and theater such as Emmanuelle Béart , Carole Bouquet , Michel Duchaussoy , Andréa Ferréol , Bernard Giraudeau , Isabelle Huppert , Claude Jade , Michèle Laroque , Fabrice Luchini , Mélanie Thierry .

On April 7, 2020, Cochet died of the effects of COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in France at the age of 85 .
