Mélanie Thierry (born July 17, 1981 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye , Yvelines ) is a French actress and model .

life and career

Mélanie Thierry began her career as a teenage model in France before turning to acting. She first played in French productions, which, however, were not successful outside of France. At the age of 18, she made a name for herself as an actress in The Legend of the Ocean Pianist . Her first Hollywood film was Babylon AD (2008). For her title role in the Parisian theater production of the Tennessee Williams play Baby Doll , she was nominated for the most important French theater prize Molière in 2009. The following year she received the César for best young actress for her role in Philippe Godeau's feature film Le dernier pour la route .

Thierry has two sons with the singer Raphaël Haroche (* 2008 and * 2013).
