Marie Trintignant (born January 21, 1962 in Paris , † August 1, 2003 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) was a French actress .

life and work

Marie Trintignant grew up as the daughter of filmmakers . Her father is the film actor Jean-Louis Trintignant , her mother the writer and director Nadine Trintignant . Marie Trintignant had two siblings. When she was 14 years old, her parents divorced. She had four sons and four fathers and was married to the father of their youngest child, the French writer , actor, screenwriter and director Samuel Benchetrit . Her son Roman Kolinka , son of the film composer Richard Kolinka, is also an actor.

Already as a child she was in the opening credits of the film This only happens to the others in 1971 together with Benoît Ferreux in front of the camera . The film thematized the infant death of Marie's sister; Directed by her mother, who made a total of twelve films with her. She also appeared with her father, including in La Terrazza (1980) by Ettore Scola . In July 2003 she held for filming a TV movie about the life of writer Colette in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius on. Her mother directed it. Her friend Bertrand Cantat , singer of the French band Noir Désir, was also present . On the night of July 26-27, 2003, he beat her during a jealousy dispute that caused serious head injuries. Cantat didn't call an ambulance for hours. Marie was in a coma for several days , was transferred to the Hartmann Clinic in Neuilly near Paris on July 31, 2003 and died a day later. The autopsy revealed that she had suffered a traumatic brain injury caused by a blow to the face. On August 6, 2003, she was buried in the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris .

Her mother Nadine Trintignant finished the two-part TV film Colette in memory of her daughter. In early October 2003 she published the book Ma fille Marie in France , in which she described Bertrand Cantat as a murderer. He was sentenced on March 29, 2004 by a criminal court in Vilnius to eight years in prison for manslaughter and failure to provide assistance, and in October 2007 he was paroled after less than four years for good conduct.
