At the end of the Holy Roman Empire, the electoral Palatinate desert until 1777 was under the sovereignty of the Electorate of Palatinate Bavaria . She belonged to the district judge office Sulzbach , which was the southwestern part of the Duchy of Wittelsbach Sulzbach . In the course of the communal territorial reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, Ammerried was incorporated together with most of the Fürnried community on July 1, 1972 into the Birgland community that had been formed six months earlier. In 1987 the wasteland, consisting of two properties, had 14 residents.
