Wolfertsfeld is a Bavarian village that belongs to the municipality of Birgland .

geography

The village in the north of the Upper Palatinate Jura is one of 42 officially named parts of the municipality of Birgland in the western part of the Upper Palatinate . That at an altitude of 575  m above sea level. Wolfertsfeld, located near NHN , is about seven kilometers from the parish village of Illschwang to the east-north-east, where the Birglander municipal administration is based.

At the end of the Holy Roman Empire, the Palatinate village until 1777 was under the sovereignty of the Electorate Palatinate Bavaria . It belonged to the district judge office Sulzbach , which was the southwestern part of the Duchy of Wittelsbach Sulzbach . As part of the Simultaneum in effect in the Duchy of Sulzbach since 1652 , the Protestant residents of the village , which at that time consisted of eight properties, were parished to Fürnried , while the Catholic residents were assigned to the parish in Heldmannsberg .

As a result of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , Wolfertsfeld became part of the rural community of Eckeltshof with the second municipal edict in 1818 , which also included Buchhof , Kegelheim , Pleishof and Troßalter . As part of the municipal regional reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, Wolfertsfeld was incorporated into the newly formed area of ​​Birgland together with the entire Eckeltshof community on July 1, 1972. In 1987 Wolfertsfeld had 40 inhabitants.
